Ridgeview is among the finest producers of sparkling wines in the world, let alone England. Located in the South Downs, Ridgeview is a family-run winery that produces a variety of sparkling wines.
Aside from receiving dozens of awards for their wines, Ridgeview has also been served by the Queen to international dignitaries.
Their wines are produced using grapes from their own vineyards, as well as others. This allows them to create a variety of sparkling wine blends, each with a distinctive flavour and style.
The list of their sparkling wines provides a flavour profile to satisfy any palate. Here is a selection:
Ridgeview’s signature blend is a Chardonnay, flavoured with Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier. The light citrus flavours are refreshing and clean. The Pinots add depth to the wine. Bloombury ages well and will mature very nicely. It pairs excellently with shellfish and other seafood.
The Cavendish is a blend of Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier, with the addition of Chardonnay to bring crispness. With very fine bubbles, Cavendish is a complex and deeply flavoured wine. The Chardonnay crispness adds a delightful finish. The strength of the wine pairs with duck and earthy vegetables
The Fitzrovia is a rose sparkling wine. Made from Chardonnay grapes with just a touch of red wine made from Pinots, this is a crisp, clean wine with berry and spice undertones. Fitzrovia offers the lightness of a Chardonnay-based sparkling wine with the complexity of the Pinots
Blanc de Blancs
Single estate Chardonnay grapes create this outstanding Blanc de Blancs. The natural flavourings that are a part of the Chardonnay grape appear in the heart of this wonderful sparkling wine. Crisp minerality with fruits and honey make this white wine a wonderful starter for any event with the appetisers and with lightly-flavoured foods, such as oysters.
Blanc de Noirs
Made exclusively from Pinot grapes, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier. The golden colour brings a toasty and rich palate pleaser. It has a strong finish that can pair well with gamey foods like mushrooms and lamb.
Rosé de Noirs
This is Rosé made only from the Pinot Moir and Pinot Meunier. Using the saignée method, the wine gets it colour from the initial pressing. There is a red berry flavour that is complemented by summer fruits, including peaches and pears.
