Set the mood for Valentine’s Day and show that special person in your life just how much they mean to you on the most romantic day of the year!
For many years it was always the tradition that Valentine’s Day meant a meal out at a fancy restaurant, however as more and more of us are choosing to stay in rather than venture out; we have in turn discovered that you can create a romantic vibe at home.
But how? How can you transform your home into one of the most romantic settings possible? Here are our top tips for getting your home prepared for the mood of love.
The Living Room
You may instantly think of setting out the dining room when it comes to a valentine’s night home date; but this isn’t always the case. For those couples who love the more informal approaches to their romance you could move the fun into the front room instead.
Why not make a heart shaped pizza for tea (you could make one for each other featuring the other’s favourite toppings) and lay out a picnic blanket on the floor.
Once dinner is done and dusted you can then spend some time doing something that you both enjoy together; board games, a video game or perhaps a romantic film. The choice is yours.
The Dining Room
A candlelit dinner is often the first thought for couples planning on staying in for Valentine’s, however often it can be the cause of a disagreement on who will cook. Instead of one person taking charge why not make the food preparation the date instead?
Choose the menu together and get your aprons on for not only a bonding session but also some really tasty food! Once the dinner is done, why not push the table to the side, turn up the music and indulge yourself in a slow dance or two; just like all those romantic movies!
Another great idea for Valentine’s night activities is to set out your very own spa evening plans. Manicures, pedicures or just simply a bubble bath and a massage; all of these things are wonderfully romantic and a treat for you both.
Don’t Just Make It One Day A Year!
One great idea we have seen for Valentine’s Day is to create a postbox on the big night and then display it in the house for the rest of the year. You can both pop love notes in there for each other and come the following Valentine’s Day you can sit and read through them all!
The important thing to remember about Valentine’s Day is making it about you both as a couple. Get the kids to bed, grab those candles and just indulge yourselves in all those things that you love about each other.
In no time at all you will feel wonderfully romantic and deeply in love!
