The Traveller’s Choice Awards for Destinations in 2015 were recently announced by Trip Advisor and the results make for interesting reading. Hoards of the site’s users took the opportunity to voice their preferences and vote in the poll, with reviews including accommodation, landmark, attraction and restaurant reviews.
The following provides information of the top 5 most popular places of 2015 as declared by the results of the recent Trip Advisor poll.
1. Marrakech, Morocco
Featuring at number 6 in 2014’s results Marrakech climbed its way to the top spot this year. The gorgeous city is awash with ancient history, modern cheeky traders, fabulous shopping opportunities and divine food. Marrakech is home to several markets, mosques and palaces, making it a wondrous place to explore and allowing travellers to feel that they have reached a magical faraway land – when in truth, the flight is only 3 hours 30 minutes from London.

2. Siem Reap, Cambodia
The ancient backdrop of Siem Reap has inspired many to consider this to be their destination of choice. The Cambodian city is an amalgamation of history, culture, diversity and tradition. With stunning temples, lush greenery, fabulous shopping possibilities, this ancient royal city is a destination for the soul.

3. Istanbul, Turkey
